Frustrated? Don’t pull your hair out trying to puzzle your way through the steps of Indy publishing. Help is here.
The growth of Indy publishing has been nothing short of phenomenal-seven-hundred percent in its first decade. But publishing a book yourself requires a completely different mindset than writing a book.
Indy Publishing Without Pulling Your Hair Out will walk you step-by-step through producing a quality book and setting it up on the two dominant platforms for Indy publishers, Kindle Direct Publishing and IngramSpark. Topics covered include typesetting, making your book cover, creating an ebook edition, and putting your book for sale worldwide.
Based on the author’s experience as an Indy publisher, using print-on-demand for ebooks, paperbacks, and hardcover books. He has previously published with five traditional textbook publishers, managed two printing companies, and once owned a bookstore.
Indy publishing is the result of two technological advances. Print-on-demand, which makes it possible to print and bind quality books in quantities as low as a single copy, and ebooks, which allow a reader to download any title in seconds and carry an entire library in their pocket. These innovations enabled booksellers to catalog of millions of titles without the hassle of warehousing inventory. A book is printed, bound, and shipped when a customer purchases it. Similarly, an ebook is delivered to a customer's device wirelessly.
